A Winter Wonderland in Lawrence County
Lawrence County woke up to a rare sight on Friday as 3-4 inches of snow covered the area, transforming our familiar landscape into a beautiful winter wonderland. Snow like this doesn’t come around often in our part of Alabama, so when it does, it’s a reason to celebrate.
The snow fell steadily throughout the day, blanketing trees, rooftops, and roads with a soft, white layer that brought out the inner child in all of us. It was the kind of snow that makes everything feel magical—quiet and still, with each snowflake adding to the peaceful scene. While the snowstorm didn’t last long, it was enough to cover the ground and create memories that will stick with us.
As the snow fell, it quickly became clear that it wouldn’t just be a pretty sight—it would be a day full of fun, as snowmen started popping up all over the county. Families took to their yards to embrace the rare winter gift, and before long, our communities were dotted with frosty creations, each one a unique reflection of Lawrence County’s creativity.
While the snow might be melting away now, the joy it brought will last much longer. Check out the photo gallery of snowmen from across the county, and take a moment to enjoy the beauty of these rare snowy days.
Thanks to all who shared photos of their snowmen!
