Moulton Mardi Gras Parade Brings Festive Fun

On Friday evening, Moulton's annual Mardi Gras parade, organized by the Byler Road Project, turned the streets into a celebration of color, culture, and King Cake dreams. The parade dazzled with a spectacular lineup of floats, classic cars, and a whole lot of festive flair. LCtoday hosts Kevin Cooper and Andy Bradford brought the excitement to life with a lively guided livestream, filled with witty banter, local insights, and the occasional attempt at catching beads with varying success.

Leading the parade in style was Grand Marshal Donna Shanklin, honored for her dedication and contributions to the community. Waving regally from their float were this year’s Mardi Gras King, Wesley Daniel, and Queen, Destiny Muston, donning their best royal smiles while avoiding the temptation to toss their crowns into the crowd.

The streets came alive as an impressive lineup of floats, classic cars, and themed trailers made their way through town. From vintage Ford models to high-energy community entries, there was no shortage of creativity and enthusiasm. Some participants leaned into the Mardi Gras theme, tossing candy, beads, and the occasional MoonPie to eager spectators. Others focused on the classics, showcasing pristine muscle cars and historic rides that revved up the excitement.

One thing was for sure—Moulton knows how to let the good times roll. Whether you came for the floats, the fun, or just to see Kevin and Andy attempt to pronounce "Mardi Gras" in their best Cajun accents, it was a night to remember.

The parade livestream can be rewatched here.
